What I sell, and what I'm building.

The About page says I only write about things I paid for. That's true, and it isn't the whole picture. Three things could bend what you read here, so here they are in one place.

I sell and install this gear

I run Bright Wire Solutions, a low-voltage contractor in Northern Virginia. Projectors, screens, speakers, racks, alarm panels, remotes — I make my living putting them in houses. When a post names a product I sell, it says so. Some posts cover gear I've only seen at a trade show, and those say that too. Selling this gear is why I have an opinion worth reading, and it's also a reason to check what I say against somebody who doesn't take money for the answer.

I'm building a universal remote

Logitech discontinued Harmony and nothing affordable replaced it, so I started building one. That makes me a competitor to every universal remote I write about. When a post reviews one, it will say so in the post — not just here.

Affiliate links

There are none on this site today. Not one post contains a paid, affiliate, or commissioned link, and no manufacturer has paid for a mention or sent me a product to review.

If that changes, these are the rules I'll be holding myself to: every affiliate link gets marked where it appears, this page gets updated the same day, and no product moves up or down a recommendation because of what it pays. If I can't keep a link honest under those terms, I won't run it.
